Ces protéines peuvent être séparées par électrophorèse et permettent d'identifier plusieurs fractions.Le pic le plus à droite correspond à l'albumine et les autres pics correspondent à la famille des globulines (le pic des γ-globulines correspond aux immunoglobulines (=anticorps)).
