Cette union est incomplète ménageant un orifice vasculo- nerveux, le foramen jugulaire. Ce foramen est en forme de huit : avec 2 orifices séparés par les épines jugulaires : l’une sur l’occipital, l’autre sur le temporal. Dans la partie antérieur passe les nerfs IX, X, XI et dans la partie postérieure passe la VJI. C'est plus clair ?
